Biology and life table of Heliothis peltigera (Denis & Schiffermüller, 1775) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), an important safflower pest, studied on two safflower varieties (Balcı and Dinçer) in the laboratory (25 ± 1 ° C temperature, 65 ± 5% relative humidity and 16: 8 photoperiod). The APOP and TPOP determined as 3.24 ± 0.2, 35.92 ± 0.4 on Balcı and 4.47 ± 0.37, 37.97 ± 0.43 days on Dinçer, respectively. The fecundity/female 610.19±46,76 (189-1253) eggs on Balcı 530.53±43.05 (211-1064) eggs on Dinçer. The longevity of male and female moths was 9.42±0,4 (5-15) and 11.95±0,4 (8-18) on Balcı, 8.85±0,33 (7-13) ve 11.53±0,35 (8-17) days on Dinçer, respectively. The total larval period was completed 14.69±1.23 days on Balcı and 15.26±1.43 days on Dinçer. The intrinsic rate of increase (r) was calculated as 0.135 females/females/day on Balcı and 0.120 females/females/day on Dinçer. The finite rate (λ) was found to be 1.145 females/day on Balcı and 1.127 females/day on Dinçer. Mean generation time (Tₒ) is 37.5 days on Balcı and 39.25 days on Dinçer. Net reproductive rate (Rₒ) was determined as 158.134 females/females on Balcı, 109.013 females/ females on Dinçer and gross reproductive rate (GRR) as 293.83 on Balcı and 277.72 on Dinçer.
